Academic and professional qualifications

  1. KRN/KRM. KRCHN, Bachelors of Science in Nursing with a valid practicing license.
  2. Certificate in Wound care
  3. BLS & ACLS certified with a valid ACLS certificate- an added advantage
  4. Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience and 1-year experience in wound care
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with Computer skills
  6. A great team player.
  7. Ability to interpret clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and facilities.
  8. Work well independently in addition to being skilled in interdisciplinary

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for creating and maintaining a plan that results in successful wound care outcomes.
  2. The Wound Care Nurse will do on site visits with patients and provide consultative phone calls and/or telehealth services with questions on continuum of wound care
  3. Ability to market wound care services to designated facilities, build caseload, and form and maintain relationships with facility staff
  4. Develop and manage an individualized wound care treatment plan for optimal healing outcomes or chronic maintenance
  5. Collaborate closely with facility Clinicians and nursing staff on wound management practices
  6. Knowledge of up-to-date topical wound care products and therapies, including ordering, application, and management of the products on wounds and ostomies, also including negative pressure wound therapy
  7. Provides hands on wound care to patients including debridement of wounds by enzymatic, sharp, or autolytic methods when appropriate
  8. Orders, reviews, interprets, and integrates diagnostic studies and laboratory findings for initiating or modifying the treatment plan
  9. Collaborate with the patient’s primary care provider when comorbidities are contributing to or affecting the healing of a wound to determine a comprehensive plan
  10. Update the primary care provider on the status and management plan of the wound as appropriate
  11. Provides the required billing information for services provided by the Wound Care Nurse and maintains the documentation necessary for those services billed
  12. Review patient prior medical records and maintains their current medical record related to the wound diagnosis and contributing comorbidities
  13. Assist with the identification of wound care quality measures, and provide data and documentation for tracking of quality measures
  14. Work with the HOD and facility leadership to determine opportunities for education of facility nurses with appropriate identification of wound types, prevention of wounds, and nursing care of wounds
  15. Health education to patient and family regarding wound treatments and management plan for optimal wound outcomes
  16. Participates in professional development activities.

  • Staff Nurse – NICU

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for providing intensive critical care to newborn & pediatric critical patients, of all ages as well as giving counseling services to both patients and their relatives.

Academic and professional qualifications

  1. KRNN.KRN/KRM,KRCHN, Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  2. Must be a Kenya Registered Nurse with a valid practicing license from NCK.
  3. Minimum of 2 years experience in ICU or NICU.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. The ability to offer emotional support to parents, guardians, and family members.
  6. Working knowledge of NICU specialized equipment.
  7. The ability to work in a team.
  8. The ability to offer comfort to ill newborns

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Checking and recording patients (newborn/ child) effectively.
  2. Preparing and updating nursing care plans.
  3. Promptly notifying the appropriate neonatologist of any problems that occur
  4. Providing round-the-clock care to premature and severely ill newborn infants.
  5. Caring for the basic needs of infants; for example, feeding and changing diapers.
  6. Performing medical procedures for example, inserting intravenous performing tests, and administering medications.
  7. Assisting the NICU physicians in medical procedures and treatments.
  8. Using and adjusting specialized medical equipment.
  9. Formulating nursing plans and evaluating the effectiveness of treatments.
  10. Comforting ill newborns and anxious parents and family members.
  11. Offering support to parents and family members and educating them on the at-home care of their newborn..
  12. Ability to utilize the standards and procedures of nursing care to continuously improve the quality of nursing and exceed the patients’ expectations and participate in audits within their departments.
  13. To be a role model of the nursing profession and exercise professionalism at all times while being an effective clinical leadership resource.
  14. To communicate with other professionals and all relevant parties in order to advocate effectively for the patients.

JOB PURPOSE

To oversee the professional management of the laboratory aimed at producing the best quality results and achieving international accreditation.

Academic and professional qualifications

  1. Be in possession of at least KCE Division two (2), C+ or its equivalent.
  2. Completion of three (3) years pre-service program for Medical Laboratory Technologist course in recognized Institution and awarded a diploma or a
  3. Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory technology or a Bachelor of Science with active work in a medical laboratory for at least one (1) year.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Oversees the operation of the laboratory through supervision of laboratory personnel: Assigns and approves leave. Maintains workload data to support personnel requirements, initiates personnel actions, selects employees, establishes performance standards and evaluates performance of lab personnel through appraisals. Identifies training needs and ensures personnel receive necessary training. Counsels laboratory personnel to resolve problems/complaints, makes disciplinary actions and award nominations

2. Performs a variety of medical technologist duties in support of the laboratory clinical tests and evaluates new laboratory procedures, equipment  and supplies where necessary.

3. Plans and conducts experiments and procedures to devise solutions to testing problems and to evaluate published methods and techniques for incorporation into the laboratory. Recommends use/purchase based on such factors as efficiency, cost effectiveness, reliability and performance by comparing new methods to those already in use, evaluating differences statistically and determining overall suitability.

4. Ensures that adequate review and approval of all laboratory results. Monitors the maintenance of instruments and equipment, ensuring that maintenance is performed in accordance with applicability standards.

5. Develops programs of instruction in such areas as safety, quality assurance, and chemical hygiene and conducts required in-service training sessions.

6. Instructs laboratory personnel on theoretical and practical aspects of medical technology and in unique handling and testing procedures.
Ensures laboratory personnel are sufficiently trained to perform tasks independently when working.

7. Develops, reviews, upgrades and implements published procedures. including the definition of reference values and acceptable ranges, and interprets quality control results. Verifies correct instrument operation using established protocols and quality control checks. Identifies the cause of common problems and makes simple adjustments. Conducts quality control procedures on equipment, reagents and products, and maintains proper records for quality control reports. Identifies and manages control samples for use within the various sections of the

8. Ensures correct specimen collection and handling and proper specimen preparation procedures are followed prior to shipment to reference laboratories. Troubleshoots tests kits and/or equipment to determine reasons for any unacceptable performance or results.
