Term: Full time (based on performance)
Working Schedule: Monday -Saturday (8:30am – 6pm)

ECANDI is a sustainability-focused organization dedicated to crafting innovative, upcycled products like our signature Eco Tops. We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Workshop Lead with technical expertise to oversee production, ensure quality, and drive sustainable practices in our workshop.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re seeking a Workshop Lead who will play a vital role in overseeing production, ensuring quality craftsmanship, and fostering a culture of sustainability and innovation within our workshop. This role requires a skilled and hands-on professional with technical expertise in workshop practices and equipment. The Workshop Lead will be responsible for managing the end-to-end production process, planning and costing projects, and leading a team of artisans to deliver exceptional products that align with ECANDI’s values and standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage workshop operations, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot workshop equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Supervise and mentor the workshop team, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  • Plan and manage production schedules, cost estimates, and resources to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Collaborate with design and operations teams to align production processes with customer and project requirements.
  • Implement and maintain eco-friendly practices, including waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable material sourcing.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on products and ensure adherence to standards for durability and sustainability.
  • Optimize workshop processes by identifying inefficiencies and introducing innovative solutions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and liaise with suppliers for sustainable material procurement.

EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proven experience in workshop or production management, with hands-on expertise in machinery and equipment operations.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Background in furniture production or sustainable manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Experience with project costing, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Commitment to sustainability and eco-conscious production methods.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices in workshop environments.

Job Title: Retail Associate

Working Schedule: Monday -Saturday (8:30am – 6pm)

As a Retail Associate, you will be a crucial part of our store’s daily operations. Your role involves supporting the Shop Manager in various tasks, from customer service and inventory management to maintaining a clean and inviting store environment. Additionally, you’ll actively contribute to our sustainability initiatives and community outreach efforts, including events and workshops. Your creativity will shine as you manage our social media platforms to expand our reach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day to day shop operations: Ensure the smooth functioning of the store, including opening and closing duties, shop cleaning, and setup.
  • Provide exceptional customer service: Handle sales, orders, and payments while engaging with customers, answering questions about our mission, and zero waste products.
  • Assist in inventory management: Handle stock, record inventory, and maintain stock levels.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and visually appealing store: Ensure that the store environment reflects our commitment to sustainability and zero waste.
  • Participate in store events and promotions: Support community outreach efforts, including events and workshops, to promote our mission.
  • Engage with customers: Educate and inform customers about our products and sustainability initiatives.
  • Manage social media content: Create and curate content for our social media platforms to expand our reach and engage with our online community.
  • Fulfill online orders: Process online orders and monitor our website.
  • Collect and report customer feedback: Share valuable customer feedback with the Store Manager for continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on zero waste trends: Keep updated on the latest zero waste trends, brands, and products to better assist customers.
  • Drive sales: Actively engage and educate customers about our products to boost sales.
  • General: Any other relevant tasks assigned.

EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS REQUIRED

Required:

  • 3+ Years Retail Experience
  • Genuine passion for zero waste sustainable living.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, social and customer service skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, especially on weekends.
