Utilities Engineer

The key purpose of this role is to provide for the efficient supply of all utilities to the production departments within the Brewery.

 

Key roles and responsibilities:

 

Maintain safe healthy and risk-free working environment

  • Ensure safety, healthy & environmental legislation compliance
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards

 

Manage Human Resources

  • Develop employees
  • Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate
  • Manage and apply personnel practices

 

Ensure manufacturing systems and instrumentation integrity

  • Maintain system integrity and change control
  • Maintain and calibrate site instrumentation

 

Ensure engineering standards compliance.

  • Ensure application documented standards
  • Develop and update engineering standards through hub technical

 

Lead asset care strategy lead as per VPO

  • Optimize use of planned maintenance system
  • Apply formal failure analysis process
  • Apply relevant engineering spares strategy
  • Plan the annual quarterly, monthly and weekly schedules such that the maintenance work is done in the available plant shutdown time
  • Design and arrange minor modifications to plant to eliminate performance problems
  • Co-ordinate relationships between maintenance, engineering services, projects and brewing staff
  • Evaluate the condition of problematic plant in order to inform management timeously to establish replacement programs
  • Control expenditure on projects

 

Manage small site projects

  • Project completion on time and in budget

 

Manage financial performance.

  • Manage budgeting process
  • Control departmental costs
  • Review financial results

Competence and Technical Skills Requirements

  • Degree in Equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or its Equivalence
  • At least 3 Years’ experience as an engineer
  • PLC and Software skills on site
  • Good analytical and evaluative skills
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills
  • Articulate & Conceptual skills
  • Accurate, decisive and persuasiveness skills
  • People handling and leadership skills
