UNIT MANAGER – RETAIL BUSINESS HEALTHCARE DIVISION

Madison General Insurance Kenya Limited, a subsidiary of Madison Group and a leading provider of general insurance products throughout Kenya, is recruiting for the above position.

Overall Responsibility:

Responsible for meeting Retail Business and SMEs revenue targets, both new and renewal business from intermediaries and introducing the company’s product to intermediaries and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive growth of the respective Business Unit by meeting the revenue targets for both new and renewal Retail business (SME and Family/Individual healthcare products)
  • Introducing the company’s products and services to new and existing intermediaries and recruitment of new intermediaries as per the set targets.
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships with potential intermediaries and partner to promote growth of business and meet revenue targets.
  • Identify new opportunities for growth in SMEs and Individual/Family Healthcare Products in order to drive sales.
  • Coordinate the training of intermediaries on products and processes for the Retail Business.
  • Co-ordinate any marketing campaigns to prospective customers
  • Ensure achievement of customer expectations in liaison with the relevant sections of the business
  • Ensure compliance to all insurance regulations and company’s policies and procedures while distributing the company’s products and services
  • Ensure timely payment of premium in line with the company’s credit policy
  • Provide market feedback to the Healthcare Operations Departments to ensure quality service delivery and profitable growth.
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify changing trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities for growth
  • Handle all queries and issues from intermediaries and clients regarding company products and processes.
  • Any other duties assigned by management from time to time

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in insurance sales especially in healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare insurance products and sales
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • High level of motivation and a results-oriented mindset.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.

Academic and Professional Qualifications required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Marketing or a related field.
  • Certificate of Insurance (COP) or good progress in AIIK/ACII qualification
