Position Title: Truck Driver – Waste Collection
Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and responsible Truck Driver to join our team to support our current drivers in collecting waste from designated routes.
Salary: Fixed Base Pay (to be shared for the selected applicant).
Expected start date: As soon as possible.
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Basic Requirements
- Valid Driving License with a permit to drive heavy trucks.
- Proven experience driving trucks, preferably in waste collection or similar industries.
- Good knowledge of Kampala’s routes and traffic regulations.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to work early mornings and weekends as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the primary driver in waste collection from assigned routes within
Kampala and surrounding areas. - Ensure the waste is collected and delivered to the proper disposal or recycling facilities on time.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and safety of the truck at all times.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations during waste collection.
- Assist with loading and unloading waste at designated drop-off points.
- Communicate any route or truck-related issues promptly to the Operations
- Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of collections and drop-offs.
- Adhere to company policies and route schedules.
