Position Summary:
The Transport Manager is responsible for overseeing all transportation activities within the organization, including managing budgets, coordinating schedules and routes, ensuring vehicle safety and compliance with legal requirements, and supervising drivers.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles to ensure efficient operations.
- Plan, organize, and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that transportation tasks are completed effectively.
- Implement schedule and policy changes as needed to optimize transportation processes.

- Collaborate with other managers and staff members to develop and implement transportation policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
- Conduct investigations in cooperation with government agencies to determine the causes of transportation accidents and improve safety procedures.
- Manage the transportation team to ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining high standards of service.
- Monitor the progress of personnel, providing support and guidance as needed, and addressing any issues that arise.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships, addressing questions and complaints in a calm and decisive manner.
- Organize and oversee health and safety checks and routine vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements.
- Maintain administrative records and communicate regularly with the delivery manager to ensure smooth operation.
- Stay informed about transport legislation and procedures to ensure company compliance.
Prerequisites:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation management, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications or training in transportation management are beneficial.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing transportation teams.
- Proven track record of implementing transportation strategies and achieving operational goals.
