Job Purpose:
- Planning transportation haulage between KEMBA port and carrier haulage for HLC KE into the hinterland countries in the most cost-effective way. Coordinating all transport requirements for imports/exports in Uganda.
Job Responsibilities:
- Daily updating of Inland Shipment report as per vendor status report of live shipments.
- Amending transportation work orders (TREX) for additional service reported by subcontractor.
- Checking discrepancies against transportation work orders and invoices shared with QSC.
- Coordinating smooth operation of cargo and documentation for corridors in Uganda / Hinterland.
- Coordinating issues that occur between the stake holders i.e. vendors, consignees (within 24hrs)
- Tracking of cargo (within 7 days after departure from port)
- Developing & expediting delivery instructions (within 7 days as per consignee instructions)
- Assuring that carriers chosen can provide any special requirements (within 7 days before vessel arrival)
- Evaluating vendor performance (Daily)
- Ensure legal documents for GIT insurance is in place for vendors (within 24hrs after notice from vendor)
- Communicating with POL/KE team with feedback on delivery (within 12hrs after query is raised)
- Ad hoc additional charges are notified to the respective teams for collection (within 24hrs)
- Ensuring documents are requested and received from POL (7 days before vessel arrival)
- Closely coordination to ensure transport requirements in UG is aligned between customers and trucking vendors.
- Equipment Dispatch basic duties
- Port visit, basic cargo operations and TBL release process and port handover.
Job Qualification:
- University degree or equivalent
- Shipping experience is a required
- FIS – competence on relevant screens like T9500, S8100, T9000, T9610, E3000, T9100
- Very good command of written and spoken English
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Able to work well with others and follow guidelines
