Job Summary:   The role of a Trade Marketing Supervisor is to bridge the gap between marketing strategies and sales activities, with a focus on driving product visibility, promotion, and ultimately, sales within specific channels or markets.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create comprehensive trade marketing strategies aligned with company objectives to enhance brand visibility and drive sales within designated channels.
  • Analyse the effectiveness of trade marketing activities and campaigns using relevant metrics and reporting tools, and provide regular insights and recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
  • Managing agencies in the execution of trade marketing activities.
  • Provide training and support to sales teams and retail partners on product features, selling techniques, and promotional initiatives to ensure successful execution at the point of sale.
  • Develop and distribute merchandising materials and POS displays to enhance product visibility and drive sales in retail environments.
  • Manage relationships with key retail partners and distributors to ensure effective execution of trade marketing initiatives and maximize visibility and availability of products.
  • Develop and execute promotional campaigns, including trade promotions, product launches, and instore activations, to drive brand awareness and increase sales.
  • Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and sales performance metrics to identify opportunities and threats and adjust trade marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Manage the trade marketing budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI on marketing activities and promotions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as category management, marketing communications, and supply chain to ensure alignment and integration of trade marketing initiatives with overall marketing strategies.
  • Conduct market research and gather consumer insights to understand target audience preferences, purchasing behaviour, and market trends. Use this information to tailor trade marketing strategies and develop compelling messaging and offers.
  • Plan and execute trade promotions, including discounts, incentives, and co-marketing activities, in collaboration with key partners to drive sales and achieve business objectives.

Financial Management

  • Manage the trade marketing budget effectively, ensuring cost efficiency and maximum return on investment.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports related to trade marketing activities.

Risk Management

  • Identify the department’s risks, their various mitigations and keep track of them.
  • Compliance
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in execution of activities within the country.
  • Adherence to all Movit Group and In Country Policies and Procedures.
  • Prepare and submit Trade Marketing reports.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field.
  • CIM Qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the in-country consumer market with strong acumen for numbers.
  • 3 to 5 years relevant experience in FMCG Industry preferably in Brand Management/ Trade Marketing.
