Trade Developers

Position: Trade Developer – Household Department

Location: Western Region:

Overall Purpose: The job holder will be responsible for increasing the product market share by facilitating visibility and availability of product portfolio. She/he will, in coordination with the team leader; generate and facilitate orders for overall sales revenue growth

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage stocks of company products in allocated outlets and ensure their availability both on the shelves and outlet stores to avoid stock outs.
  • List available products in the outlets as per customer size; and continually seek to increase product range in the outlets handled.
  • Assist in DJ and carrying out duties under marketing of the brand.
  • Create market awareness in the market for our own brands.
  • Ensure that there are no short expires or expired products in any of the outlets handled by adhering to the timelines set for processing the same.
  • Assist in selling out client stock.
  • Assessment of market share of our products compared to similar products sold by competitors and do price comparisons.
  • Ensure good visibility of our products.
  • Able to organize marketing in different towns.
  • Communicate with the operations department before close of business day regarding orders collected for timely deliveries.
  • Ensure branding and marketing of our prospects is done
  • Ensure timely collections and that customers adhere to their set credit terms; in liaison with the accounts department.
  • Assist in branding and marketing in distributors shops.
  • Assist in doing MC job at marketing.
  • Give customer feedback regarding complaints or suggestions; and track progress of the same to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Submit timely and accurate reports to your supervisor on a daily, weekly and monthly basis; as per the approved reporting formats.
  • Ability to solve problems at the distributors shops.
  • Able to collect market information.
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned by their supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A minimum of Diploma in Sales or Marketing or a related field – from a reputable institution.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role handling household products, i.e, plates, thermo-flasks, cups etc.
  • Should have a proven ability to achieve and surpass sales targets.
  • Must have good computer skills and proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Must have a valid driving license coupled with experience.
  • Must be residing in the region.
  • Available immediately.
