Tourism Relationship Officer

We are looking for a high caliber, self-driven and dedicated Tourism Relations Officer (TRO) committed to excellent service delivery.

Reporting to the Chief Tourism Officer (CTO), the TRO will be responsible for enhancing BLF’s visibility through guest relations and experiences in existing and new lodges within the Amboseli Ecosystem.

The TRO will manage the interface between tourists – including BLF donors who regularly visit as tourists – as well as coordinating interactions with BLF’s programs and staff. The objective of this role is to improve BLF as a tourism product, and secure new donors from tourists visiting the Amboseli Ecosystem (AE). In addition, the TRO will manage existing BLF donor visits to maintain and enhance their commitment to continued support.

He/She will play a supportive role to the CTO when required, as well as stand in for the Tourism Management Officer (TMO) when the TMO is away.

Qualifications, experience and skills
– Bachelors degree in hospitality/tourism/tour guiding or related field from a recognized institution
– Minimum 5 years proven successful experience in a similar role
– Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
– Previous similar experience working in the tourism/conservation sector in the East African region
– A sound understanding of the tourism and wildlife conservation sector in the Amboseli Ecosystem is an added advantage
– Post-graduate degree in a related field will be an added advantage
