Key Purpose Statement
The Technologist Quality Assurance is responsible for supervision and engagement with the Quality Controllers QAQC’s, Machine operators, Line Attendants and across the manufacturing supply chain. This role reports to SHEQ Manager.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Understand and Implement Business Strategic Priorities.
- Align Quality Goals and Objectives with Business Strategic Priorities
- Engage with Internal Customers to Develop Partnerships and Capability
- Leads the implementation of Quality (Control) at Source and the development of the Quality Assurance function at Plant Level
2. Ensure that the Product and Package Quality meets Legal, Internal and TCC requirements
- Maintenance of the Quality system and ensure CCBA and TCCC standards are met.
- Ensure Quality Governance, Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Laboratory Practice standards are maintained in all facilities
- Review and Interpretation of SPC data and ensuring that this knowledge is extended to the production lines
3. Manage the Quality and Laboratory environment
- Manage laboratory Equipment and Consumables
- Ensure that SPC and Capability Surveys as well as Trade Quality and age surveys are done at required frequencies.
- Oversee specialised testing.
4. Drive Problem Solving and Continous Improvement Initiatives
- Ensure that RCA processes relating to quality issues address the relevant root cause.
- Review quality issue trends and ensure that the appropriate RCA process is followed.
5. Manage safety, Health and Environmental standards
- Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental policies and procedures and applicable
- Contribute to the management of sustainable development issues to achieve key sustainable development targets
6. Human Resource Management for QACs and QATs
- People development
- Performance management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Food Science or a related course.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Food Processing Plant
