The key purpose of the role is to plan all daily routes for all DC’s/Breweries/Spirit Enterprise in BU and analyses these routes to update master data to drive efficiency and effectiveness in daily operations. Grow profitability by exploiting delivery mode opportunities.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- To ensure that company and legal driving and vehicle regulations are adhered to.
- To track and ensure compliance to driver working hours per regulatory guidelines.
- To Ensure all routes planned comply with geofence and route road deviating protocols.
- Compliance to all legislation and liquor norms and standards
- Adherence to and maintenance of site housekeeping standards
- Wearing the correct PPE always as designated by site and area.
- Full implementation and adherence to DPO and LCP protocols
- Day to day distribution planning for all sites and all sales orders by means of planning systems and daily load plan generation.
- Scheduling distribution load plans for multiple depots within prescribed period.
- While striving for minimum alteration, remaining agile to unforeseen circumstances and necessary reaction
- Effective weekend and public holiday operations
- Assess daily out-of-standard Customer and Depot requests and set up meetings and Action logs to address the inefficiencies.
- Root cause analysis of queries and complaints conducted to prevent recurrence.
- Meticulous attention to routing options, effect on costs, and sound decisions taken against these variables.
- Maintain regular and effective communications with internal stakeholders via email/Zoom/mobile phone
- Set up and maintain off route planning systems.
- Manage the Syspro and Route Builder master data process to enable effective planning.
- Monitor and maintain all planning related depot master data for all sites in country.
- Alignment of theoretical and actual time spend on route
- Apply performance management principles for direct reporting employees.
- Provide effective leadership and support people committee meetings.
- Ensure employees are trained on functional and DPO standards
- Support the implementation of the DPO Delivery and Planning Pillar in all sites across the country.
- Support the implementation of LCP in all sites.
- Ensure daily/weekly/monthly routines are fully adhered to.
- Track relevant KPI’s and PI’s as per standard.
- Identify deviations and analyze this with the use of problem-solving tools to show improvements over time
- Review load plan execution performance at an operational level and constructively provide feedback to drive improvement.
- KPI reporting against pre-determined Customer, Cost and Resource performance levels.
- On time submission of any DPO related reports and requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Logistics and or Supply Chain
- Minimum of 2 years’ operational/planning experience in FMCG company
- Worked with routing tools such as Route Builder/FLO/Roadshow
- Syspro knowledge
- Numeracy and literacy skills
- Fluent in English and Swahili
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure.
