
Job Summary
The study nurse provides operational support for the HIV prevention and Care Interventions for Youth in Uganda (HIP-CY) study including but not limited to participant triage, sample collection, data quality control support to ensure high quality, effective and efficient productivity.
The HIP-CY study applies implementation science to understand and design stakeholder informed innovative interventions to improve youth prevention and care continuums in rural and urban Uganda.
Overall Responsibilities
- Provide study information, obtain consent/assent for study enrolment from parents/caretakers of eligible participants in accordance with study protocol.
- Perform study participant triage, collect and record participant physical parameters in accordance with the study protocol/schedule of events.
- Collect relevant study participant samples in accordance with the study protocol/study schedule of events.
- Conduct quality control checks on study CRFs completed during participant study visits.
- Monitor and provide status updates on the stock of study supplies required for the conduct of the study (i.e. sample collection).
- Timely Compilation and distribution of study meeting minutes to the study team.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
- At least 2 years’ experience in research conduct
- Experience in pediatric HIV care and prevention service delivery.
