Job Description

  • Job purpose statement

The Analyst reports to the Strategy and planning Manager and is responsible for carrying out financial analysis deep-dive, providing management Information and Insights for strategic decision making. The analyst is responsible for conducting research, developing forecasts, and analyzing data to inform strategic decisions and help the organization achieve its goals.

  • Develop Decision Support Systems and dash boards
  • Initiate /Participate/implement /Monitor – Business growth strategies
  • Regular management reports -Accurate, Consistent and Informative
  • Portfolio and business performance analysis.
  • Support projects in the Finance Department
  • Key responsibilities
  • Revenue From Operations (RFO) and Mission Tracking, follow-up, and reporting:
  • Strategic initiatives and Turnaround plan updates: Preparation of management reports including but not limited to OPS-COM, Banking Cluster, Trading update, Quarterly Business Review and Board Paper.
  • Financial Modelling and Projections: To support decision-making and evaluate the potential impact of various strategic scenarios.
  • Annual Business Planning: Assist in Preparing and Cascading the business plan across departments and branches.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance and scenarios analysis.
  • Monitor and analyses business performance based on financial metrics and KPIs to close possible performance gaps
  • Finance Projects: Assist in the management of Finance projects and related Admin matters, monitor implementation of Regulators, Risk and Audit recommendations, maintain a well updated tracker for all finance activities
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to assess competitive landscapes, industry trends, growth opportunities, and market trends impacting the company.

  • Monitor, on a continuous basis, all transactions to ensure that unusual and suspicious transactions are reported to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)
  • Implementing and enforcing the board approved AML, KYC & CFT policy in as far as is applicable within my area of responsibility

Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics or other quantitative fields

Desirable

Master’s degree in business or finance or Banking Qualifications.

  • R and Python Programming Language skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Experience

At least 3 years working experience in a financial institution or a business consulting with exposure to strategic planning, and financial analysis.

Experience in accounting systems, budget and financial planning.

Responsibilities

Analysis of “As Is” and “To Be”

Support and contribute to the documentation of “as is” and “to be” processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the “to be” capability to record accurately the change required.

Business Case

Contribute information and analysis to support the development and review of business cases.

Business Requirements Identification

Support collection of business requirements using document analysis and workflow analysis to express requirements clearly and succinctly.

Data Collection and Analysis

Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.

Database Specifications

Provide information and comments on suitability during the approval process for database specifications to ensure all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.

Enterprise Business Analysis

Identify opportunities for process or procedural improvement, and design improved solution alternatives.

Feasibility Studies

Contribute to and support feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective, and document findings.

Horizon Scanning

Explore and develop a basic understanding of external developments or emerging issues.

Requirements Management

Identify, elicit, and document user/project requirements, using appropriate modeling technique, if required. Analyze requirements and validate with original users, eliminating confusion. Outline verification criteria to ensure requirements are met. Maintain documentation and traceability throughout project.

Documentation and Backup
