Watoto Wasoka, founded in 2009, is a youth-led football for development organisation in Uganda that uses football as a vehicle for social change in the lives of slum children. The organisation creates purposeful opportunities for play and learning in a safe environment for slum children in Uganda and organises major football events for youth in the region.
Role Description
This is a volunteer Social Media Officer role at Watoto Wasoka in Kampala, with flexibility for remote work. The Social Media Officer will be responsible for creating social media content, communicating with the audience, implementing social media marketing strategies, writing engaging posts, and optimising social media presence.
Qualifications
- Social Media Content Creation, Writing, and Social Media Optimisation (SMO) skills
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in social media marketing
- Ability to create engaging content for various platforms
- Knowledge of social media trends and best practices
- Graphic design skills are a plus
- Passion for youth development and community empowerment
- Fluency in English and local languages is an advantage
