Daktari Online is seeking a creative, passionate, and driven social media and marketing intern with a strong background in healthcare to help us enhance our brand’s digital presence. This role is ideal for someone with both marketing skills and a keen understanding of the medical field. You will be responsible for creating and managing content that speaks directly to healthcare professionals, as well as helping to develop and implement marketing strategies aimed at promoting our CPD programs and expanding our reach.

Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Management:
- Develop, curate, and manage engaging content across Daktari Online’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.), tailored to healthcare professionals and organizations.
- Engage with the online community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote our learning activities, events, CPD programs, and other healthcare-related content.
- Marketing Support:
- Assist in the development of marketing strategies to promote our services and expand our reach among healthcare professionals and organizations.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create content that aligns with ongoing campaigns and brand goals.
- Contribute to the design and execution of email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Analytics & Reporting:
- Track and analyze social media and marketing performance metrics to inform future strategies and identify areas for improvement.
- Report on audience growth, engagement, and campaign effectiveness to the marketing team.
- Content Creation:
- Creatively create visually appealing graphics, videos, and written content that resonate with the healthcare community using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent platforms.
- Stay updated on healthcare trends and topics to ensure content remains relevant and valuable to our audience.
- Brand Awareness & Growth:
- Implement strategies to increase Daktari Online’s brand awareness and follower base, specifically targeting healthcare professionals across Africa.
- Assist with search engine optimization (SEO) efforts to improve the visibility of our content online.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Marketing, or a related field. Experience in the healthcare field is required.
Social Media & Marketing Skills: Demonstrated experience in managing professional social media accounts and executing marketing campaigns, preferably within the healthcare or educational sectors.
Content Creation: Proficiency in content creation and design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms. Experience with video editing is a plus.
Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complex medical information in an engaging and accessible manner.
Analytical Mindset: Experience with social media analytics tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, etc.) and a data-driven approach to optimize performance.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
