Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Planning:
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand their objectives, challenges, and talent requirements.
- Develop and execute HR strategies, initiatives, and programs that support business goals, including workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and organizational development.
Employee Relations:
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances in a timely and objective manner.
Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs, develop job descriptions, and participate in the recruitment and selection process.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires and facilitate talent development initiatives such as training, performance management, and career development.
Performance Management:
- Assist in the implementation of performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and performance improvement plans.
- Coach managers on effective performance feedback and support the identification of high-potential employees.
Compliance and Policy Development:
- Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices are compliant with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
HR Analytics and Reporting:
- Utilize HR data and analytics to provide insights and recommendations to business leaders.
- Generate HR reports on key metrics such as turnover, headcount, and employee engagement, and use the data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Collaborate with the HR team to design and implement competitive and equitable compensation and benefits programs.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on compensation matters, including salary benchmarking, promotions, and rewards recognition.
Change Management:
- Support the organization through periods of change by facilitating communication, providing change management tools and techniques, and assisting in the implementation of change initiatives.
- Help employees and managers navigate transitions effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HRBP and must have worked in a unionized environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset.
- Experience in managing employee relations issues and conducting investigations.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and other HR-related tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate.
