We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Security Engineer (Application & Database Security)
Location: Lagos
Job Purpose
- To secure enterprise applications and databases by embedding security in the software development lifecycle and managing secure configurations of data systems.
- The role focuses on identifying vulnerabilities, enforcing secure coding practices, and protecting sensitive information stored in databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform application security assessments, including code reviews and dynamic/static testing.
- Collaborate with software development teams to integrate security into the SDLC (DevSecOps).
- Assist in developing and updating secure coding guidelines and technical standards.
- Stay updated with emerging threats and attack techniques related to applications and databases.
- Conduct database vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Implement database security best practices, encryption, and access controls.
- Monitor application and database logs for anomalies and suspicious activity.
- Address and remediate vulnerabilities in collaboration with development and DBA teams.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Relevant certifications is an added advantage.
- Practical Experience with security tools such as SAST, SCA, DAST, WAFS, and DAMs.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database security, and encryption technologies.
- Relevant certifications such as eMAPT, eCPPT, ASCP, CEH, OSCP, or CSSLP are a plus.
- Experience:· 5+ years of experience in application security or database security roles.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps integration and CI/CD pipeline security.
