Purpose and scope of assignment
The main objective of the Scaffolders is to erect and dismantle temporary metal scaffolding on structure and construction sites, so that other people can work at height and carry out their jobs safely. Scaffolders sets scaffolding around a structure, or inside building undergoing construction, renovation or demolition.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Erecting scaffolding poles.
- Unloading scaffolding equipment on-site.
- Ensuring a stable base for scaffolding.
- Fixing scaffolding to buildings or structures.
- Laying planks for workers to walk on.
- Fixing guard rails and safety netting.
- Creating different kinds of platforms, from simple scaffolding through to complex structures such as suspended scaffolding, cantilever drops and temporary roofs.
- Observing all safety rules and precautions.
- Any other task as directed by superiors.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Applicant should possess the following.
- At least a vocational Institute Certificate with specialized training in scaffolds erecting.
- ECITB Training certificate from A recognized Institute is A must.
- Previous experience from reputable construction companies is an added advantage.
- Physical fitness and must have the physical capacity to lift or position heavy loads.
- Well-developed communication and teamwork skills since tasks depends on team work.
- Concern for safety for avoiding and all foreseeable risks.
