Sales Representative

Job Summary

The Sales Representative is responsible for achieving daily sales targets, retaining and growing existing customers, and ensuring that delivered products are paid for. The role involves making customer calls, promoting new product listings, and using the company van to manage deliveries and customer engagement across the assigned region.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meeting or exceeding the daily sales targets of Ksh 18,000.
  • Make at least 30 customer calls daily using the van to cover the assigned route.
  • Secure 12 productive calls per day, ensuring meaningful engagement with key customers.
  • Identify and secure a minimum of 3 new product listings daily.
  • Retain and grow relationships with existing customers, ensuring consistent repeat business.
  • Ensure that all delivered products are paid for upon delivery.
  • Maintain detailed customer records, updating the system with sales data and customer feedback.
  • Build and nurture relationships with both existing and potential clients.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends, recommending adjustments to sales strategies.

Performance Indicators

  • Meeting the daily sales target of KES 18,000.
  • Completing at least 30 customer calls daily.
  • Securing 12 productive calls per day.
  • Securing a minimum of 3 listings per day

Qualifications

  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in direct sales or distribution, preferably in the FMCG industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve daily sales targets through effective customer engagement.
  • Experience in uplifting stocks, making deliveries, and reconciling payments with stockists or suppliers.
  • Hands-on experience in making customer calls, closing sales, and promoting new product listings.
  • Familiarity with new product listings and promotional strategies for FMCG products.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring repeat business and customer loyalty.
  • Experience in maintaining accurate records of stock delivered, payments collected, and customer interactions.
  • Familiarity with market trends and competitor activity monitoring, with the ability to provide actionable feedback.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile stock and payments efficiently.
