Job Overview:

The Tamarind Group is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Manager to drive revenue growth in the banqueting business segment at Tamarind Brasserie (Nairobi) and Tamarind Mombasa. The primary focus will be on the Food & Beverage (F&B) business, along with a strong emphasis on conferencing and accommodation sales at Tamarind Mombasa. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and a seasoned sales professional with a proven ability to attract and retain clients in the banqueting and conferencing sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to increase banqueting and F&B revenue at both Tamarind Brasserie and Tamarind Mombasa.
  • Drive the sales of conferencing and accommodation packages at Tamarind Mombasa, targeting corporate clients, event planners, and large groups.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, event organizers, and corporate decision-makers to foster repeat business.
  • Identify new business opportunities and build a robust sales pipeline for future growth in the banqueting and conferencing segments.
  • Collaborate with the operations and marketing teams to ensure the successful execution of events and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet business goals.
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and updates to the Director of Sales and Marketing regularly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a sales role within the hospitality or events industry, with a focus on banqueting and conferencing.
  • Proven track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of the local market and client base is an added advantage.
