Sales Executive

Job Purpose

The overall purpose of this job is to conduct sales at the designated area/location –supermarkets, shops, wholesalers and direct customers in line with the set targets and company guidelines.

Key duties and responsibilities

  1. Devise strategies to find new prospects and sales leads and convert them into customers;
  2. Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs;
  3. Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media;
  4. Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns;
  5. Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services;
  6. Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data for decision making and monitoring product movement;
  7. Ensure the availability of stock for sales and demonstrations;
  8. Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections from customers;
  9. Collaborate with team members to achieve better results;
  10. Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams;
  11. Collect orders through the merchandisers and ensure that they are fulfilled in a timely manner;
  12. Ensure all the proceedings from the sales is collected and deposited accordingly;
  13. Reconciliation of the daily sales – opening stock vs closing stock vs cash from sales; and
  14. Any other responsibilities assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

  • Certificate in Sales and Marketing, (Diploma)
  • Minimum of 1 year experience

  • Proficiency in English
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques

  • Aptitude in delivering attractive presentation

Responsibility for finances and physical assets

  • The job holder has no responsibility for equipment, finances or stock except for the stocks and work tools assigned.

Decision-making

  • The jobholder’s decision-making authority is within existing guidelines and includes providing recommendations to facilitate final decisions
