SALES ENGINEER (SMART METERING)

M-PAYA Energy is a customer-focused utility billing company . We provide Suite Metering and Billing solutions for multi-unit residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, billing utilities like electricity, water, and gas.

Role Description

As a Smart Metering Sales Engineer, you’ll use your technical knowledge along with sales skills to contribute to product marketing and pre-sales activities, technical sales and bid activities.

 

Ideal Candidate should possess understanding of AMR (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) and AMI technologies across a wide array of smart metering applications (proprietary RF, MBUS, LoRaWAN, Sigfox, Cellular, SMETS2, STS prepayment) combined with a deep understanding of market and customer challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Smart Metering Expertise:

· Demonstratable experience working with smart meters, including installation, configuration, and data analysis.

· Possess a deep understanding of smart metering communication protocols and technologies (e.g., Zigbee, PLC).

· Experience with smart meter data management systems (MDMS) is a strong asset.

  • Process Management:

· Implement and document efficient processes for managing and supporting existing and new smart metering products.

· Analyse applications and recommend improvements to optimize technical workflows.

 

  • Training and Support:

· Provide technical support and training to internal staff on smart metering technologies and procedures.

· Collaborate effectively with cross-functional departments (e.g., Sales, Engineering) to ensure seamless integration of smart metering solutions.

 

  • Client Liaison:

· Act as a technical liaison between the company and clients, addressing any smart metering related inquiries.

· Assist with resource management to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical electrical/electronic/communication/ energy or a related field.
  • Experience in a technical role, with a strong focus on smart metering technology.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
