Position: Revenue Manager
Reports To: Operations Manager & GM
Duty Station: Kendwa Rocks Beach Hotel, Zanzibar
Compensation: Attractive remuneration based on experience
Job Summary:
Kendwa Rocks Beach Hotel seeks a highly motivated and experienced Revenue Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing the hotel’s revenue, developing and implementing pricing strategies, and working closely with various departments to ensure alignment on revenue strategies. Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Strategy Development:
· Develop and implement comprehensive pricing strategies to maximize revenue and market share.
· Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking.
· Identify and capitalize on new revenue opportunities.
· Maximize revenue to achieve budgeted targets and position the hotel to increase market share continuously.
· Optimize the business mix, develop segment strategies, and work closely with department heads to achieve the desired mix.
Forecasting and Budgeting:
· Prepare and update revenue forecasts regularly.
· Participate in the annual budget preparation process.
· Monitor and adjust strategies based on actual performance against budget and forecasts.
Inventory Management:
· Optimize room availability and manage inventory to maximize revenue.
· Collaborate with the front office to manage overbooking and optimize room allocation.
Market Analysis:
· Analyze market trends, demand, and competitor behavior.
· Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve revenue strategies.
· Focus on trend recognition, demand anticipation, and opportunity analysis.
Collaboration and Communication:
· Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure strategic alignment.
· Communicate revenue management strategies and performance to senior management and stakeholders.
· Ensure optimal presentation and amplification of business opportunities through direct and indirect channels.
Systems and Technology:
· Utilize revenue management systems and tools to analyze data and optimize performance.
· Ensure accurate data input and maintenance in revenue management systems.
· Develop and implement systems, practices, and tools aimed at balancing demand and revenue maximization techniques.
Reporting:
· Prepare and present regular reports on revenue performance and market trends.
· Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve revenue performance.
Training and Development:
· Train and mentor team members on revenue management principles and practices.
· Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Proven experience in revenue management within the hospitality industry, preferably in a 4 or 5-star hotel.
· Prior experience in a revenue role.
· Track record of delivering against targets.
· Experience utilizing multiple mediums to communicate and build relationships.
· Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
· Ability to impact and influence key stakeholders remotely.
· Highly responsible and reliable.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
· Proficiency in revenue management systems and tools.
· Prior knowledge of Opera Cloud and IDeaS RMS is advantageous but not essential.
· Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
· Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and adjust strategies accordingly.
Preferred Skills:
· Advanced knowledge of hotel revenue management systems (e.g., Opera, Micros).
· Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI).
· Understanding of digital marketing and distribution channels.
· Certification in Revenue Management (e.g., CRME) is a plus.

Working Conditions:
· Full-time position, typically Monday to Saturday, with flexibility required for occasional weekends or evenings.
· Office environment within the hotel.
· Physical Requirements:
· Occasional travel may be required for conferences and training.
