Retail Lubricants Category Manager

Job Purpose:

1. To drive growth and profitability objectives for this category.

2. To drive the implementation and execution of Retail Lubricants initiatives on the forecourts and lead delivery of the lubricants category plans.

3. Address all the day-to-day issues on Lubricants and Sales Team.

4. Ensure profitability increase of the Lubricants category for Vivo Energy Kenya

 

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Manage the implementation of Lubes activities in the Retail network. Address all the day-to-day

issues and ensure profitability of lubes business.

2. Monthly retail Lubes evaluation Performance through analysis & review of product mix

performance

3. Lead the implementation of Lubricants initiatives in Retail and ensure continued success through

smart monitoring of performance, and value addition to overall RCVP. Roll-out and implement

the revised lube bay offer and ensure that is consistently applied across the network.

4. Support and assist in the development of OU lubes category plan, and ensure these plans are

effectively implemented across the network.

5. Monitor Lubes performance within retail, including pricing and competitor behaviour, and

analyze results with the Marketing Implementer.

6. Provide coaching / trainings / motivation of Retailers and site staff on Lubricants

7. Compile and present Lubricants performance data and results analysis.

8. Drive sell-out growth initiatives for lubricants at sites by creating programs to motivate site staff

to focus on lubes growth and premiumization.

9. Implement/Execute a robust Availability, Visibility & Active selling (AVA) initiatives for Lubes at

retail sites.

a. Availability – Making sure stocks availability KPI is met.

b. Visibility – Ensure Proper merchandising of MDUs at the forecourt adhering to planogram

standards

c. Active Selling – Active selling of lubes at sites to grow sell-out through OS/LSS Programs

10.Support Execution of Lubricants marketing initiatives at sites.

11. Ensure HSSE compliance in the Lubricants business.

12. In charge of Verifying accuracy of Monthly Retail Lubes Forecasting with Lubes operations

manager

Requirements

• A degree in Sales & Marketing

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in category management with an understanding of category management process would be an advantage

• Strong background in merchandising, purchasing, financial analysis and stock control

• Previous experience in retail operations is desirable

• Previous sales/commercial experience is desirable

• Demonstrates the ability to select, analyze and integrate consumer/shopper, customer and category information to deliver business solutions
