Seeking 6 Research Enumerators for a Tracer Study – Green Businesses Project: “Creating opportunity for young people and women in rural Kenyan – Vihiga, Makueni and Kajiado Counties”.
Africa Research and Data Ltd is inviting applications for research assistants for the “Tracer Study – Green Businesses Project: “Creating opportunity for young people and women in rural Kenyan – Kakamega, Makueni and Kajiado Counties”. The tracer study specific objectives include assessing the extent to which green employment/self-employment has been achieved thus far in the project, understanding the determinants enabling and/or disabling employment, capturing key learnings from the implementation experience, and recommending doable project actions..
Consequently, we are seeking a blend of Research Enumerators (2 Enumerators in each County) possessing proven technical expertise in the fields of Youth Development, Women, and issues related to TVET Education.
Duties:
The duties of the research enumerators will encompass a range of tasks vital to the success of the study.
- Conduct phone call interviews/KIIs/FGDs with all recruited study participants (graduates, trainers, administrators, and mentors of graduates)
- Complete, edit, and submit all assigned interviews for cross-checking and verification on a daily basis.
- Review the collected data to ensure all questions are completed prior to online submission (Mobile Data Collection – Kobo Collect).
- Follow-up with participants for missing responses or correct any inaccurate responses.
- Ensure the safety of all assigned study tools.
- Moderate/facilitate qualitative interviews with all recruited study respondents.
- Take notes and compile comprehensive qualitative interview debriefing reports/notes.
- Other related tasks assigned by the Field Coordinator and Principal Investigator.
Specifically, we are looking for local enumerators whom have conducted similar assignment in Vihiga, Makueni and Kajiado Counties (2 Enumerators in each County).
Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for potential candidates include:
- A diploma or undergraduate degree in Social Studies/Education.
- Fluency in Luhya, Maa, Kikamba, English and Swahili languages, with proficiency in both oral and written communication.
- Experience in electronic data capture methods, utilizing tools such as KOBO Collect or similar devices and electronic digital recorders.
- Experience of working with in the Education Sector i.e Youth Development, Women, and issues related to TVET Education .
Mandatory Requirements:
In compliance with the technical demands of this assignment, we acknowledge that data collection can be executed by individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences. However, for this particular study requiring specialized knowledge and expertise, we will exclusively consider applications from the local communities in Vihiga, Makueni and Kajiado Counties.
