The Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) is excited to announce an internship opportunity in
our Research and Advocacy Department. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic intern to
join our team for a six-month period.
Position: Research and Advocacy Intern
Duration: 6 months
Location: Architectural Association of Kenya, Nairobi
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct research on current trends, issues, and policies related to the built environment.
• Analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports on findings
• Help develop and implement advocacy strategies.
• Prepare advocacy materials, such as policy briefs, position statements, and fact sheets.
• Assist in organizing and participating in advocacy events, meetings, and campaigns.
• Develop content for social media platforms and the association’s website.
• Assist in identifying funding opportunities and preparing grant applications
• Maintain accurate records of research and advocacy activities.
• Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and other documentation.
• Assist in managing research and advocacy projects, ensuring they are completed on time
and within budget.
Qualifications:
• A recent graduate in any built environment profession;
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in social media and digital communication platforms.
• Passion for policy development and advocacy within the built environment sector.
