REPORTING TO: Head- High Networth

JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Head- High Networth, the role holder will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-net-worth clients by offering tailored financial solutions that meet their unique needs and drive bank profitability. Success in this role requires strong client relationships, exceptional service, proactive sales skills, and effective risk management to ensure a secure and profitable portfolio.

LOCATION: Kampala

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Relationship Development: Cultivate strong relationships with high-net-worth clients by understanding their financial goals and offering customized solutions.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Monitor portfolio performance to ensure balance sheet health and revenue growth while identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Business Development: Drive new business through face-to-face engagements and enhance existing portfolios with value-added services.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to respond swiftly to sales leads and explore synergies across various bank services.
  • Data Analysis & Client Engagement: Analyze customer and market data to identify expansion opportunities; maintain regular client contact through a structured calling schedule.
  • Customer Advisory Role: Serve as the primary advisory point for clients, addressing inquiries and liaising with back-office services to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Lending & Risk Management: Execute annual credit reviews, assist clients with documentation for credit applications, and monitor credit facilities to mitigate risk.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Conduct needs analyses when onboarding clients, provide full disclosure of services, and maintain accurate records per regulatory requirements.
  • Team Management: Oversee the Relationship Manager Assistant to ensure portfolio objectives are met effectively.
  • Market Insights: Identify and share market trends, risks, and opportunities with management to optimize and sustain revenue growth.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • University Graduate (Hons).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CISI, CFA, Certificate in Insurance, Certificate in Credit Analytics) are an added advantage.
  • Experience in Diaspora relationship management will be an added advantage.
  • Numerical & Financial Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex financial statements, balance sheets, and ratios to identify trends.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of cash flow cycles, industry-specific financial practices, and general banking principles.
  • Product Expertise: In-depth knowledge of multi-level products for high-net-worth clients, including financial investments, asset finance, and electronic banking.
  • Banking Regulations: Familiarity with Business Banking products, competitor offerings, and credit principles, along with a sound understanding of local financial regulations.
  • Sales & Portfolio Management: Strong grasp of sales principles, portfolio management systems, and administrative processes related to high-net-worth transactions.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficient in negotiation and using reference guides for accurate information retrieval; experience with Diaspora clients and investment products is a plus.
  • Experience: Preferably 5 years in portfolio relationship management with high-net-worth clients, including at least 6 months of credit experience to build lending knowledge and credibility.
  • Communication & Analytical Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with strong numeracy and data analysis capabilities.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Observant and innovative, quick to identify opportunities and create effective solutions, with a systematic approach to organization and detail.
  • Leadership & Motivation: Demonstrates leadership in managing others, is resilient and enthusiastic in overcoming challenges and is driven by results while showing empathy towards clients.
