Job Purpose

Responsible for developing new business opportunities by proactively marketing lending/deposit opportunities from current & potential clients; cross – selling bank services; working closely with the entire branch staff to maintain a high degree of customer focus.

Principle Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regular meetings with existing and potential customers and offering available lending and non-lending products.
  • Proactively drives renewal/review process of existing facilities, ensuring consistently thorough and timely evaluation of all facilities as per process flow.
  • Meeting key customers (top 20% depositors) at least once quarterly and big borrowers as per process flow; to monitor their progress, performance and identification of possible business opportunities.
  • Identify new product opportunities through local market intelligence.
  • Marketing the bank’s service capabilities; looking for ways to enhance relationship outside lending.
  • Participate end-to-end in loans workouts, collections and recovery of loans in arrears.
    • Daily monitoring of all accounts in arrears
    • Immediate follow-up of accounts in arrears
    • Initiation of demand and other procedures
    • Re-assessment of securities and documentation
    • Liaising with Recoveries Unit when appropriate (recovery of collaterals, use of debt collectors/auctioneers, write-offs etc.)
  • Cross selling of bank’s products and services to customers, for example Trade Finance, Forex, Bank Guarantees, Simbanking, SimAccount, etc.
  • Collection of market intelligence information from local competition, products and levels of service.
  • Appraise credit applications at branch level, provide sound financial and business justification for deals/proposals within acceptable risk parameters relative to the profitability and provide recommendations for decision-making.
  • Monitor and review business performance at branch level to ensure that the targets are met.
  • Monitor the quality of loan portfolio; ensure compliance to approval terms & conditions and subsequent covenants.

Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Its Equivalent and at least professional banking certificate
  • At least 2years’ experience with good background of customer relationship.
  • Strategic business awareness coupled with clear understanding of Bank’s products, handling and building customer relations.
  • Also should be aware with Performance Management and Change management.
  • Self-empowerment to enable development of open communication, teamwork and trust that are needed to support performance and customer service oriented culture.
  • Communication and Presentation skills, Planning and Organizing skills, Interpersonal and Computer skills, Coaching skills as well as Reporting and analytical skills.
