As a Quality Control Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, stability, and compliance of our cutting-edge cosmetic products.
Job Summary
The Quality Control Officer is responsible for performing and overseeing quality control processes, including stability testing, microbiological analysis, and preservative efficacy testing (PET), to ensure all products meet internal and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in cosmetic microbiology or quality control and a strong educational background in microbiology, biochemistry, or cosmetic science.
Key Responsibilities
1. Stability Testing:
• Conduct comprehensive stability tests for raw materials and finished products.
• Document and interpret results to ensure product longevity and performance.
• Maintain stability chambers and ensure proper test conditions are met.
2. Microbiological Analysis:
• Perform microbial contamination assessments on raw materials and finished goods.
• Ensure all products meet microbial safety thresholds.
• Troubleshoot contamination issues and provide solutions for mitigation.
3. Preservative Efficacy Testing (PET):
• Design and execute PET to evaluate the effectiveness of antimicrobial preservatives in formulations.
• Recommend adjustments to preservative systems based on test results.
4. Quality Control Operations:
• Monitor and document production processes to ensure adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Perform regular inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Review and maintain quality documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COA).
5. Compliance and Regulatory Standards:
• Ensure all tests comply with internal SOPs, international standards (ISO, FDA, or EU regulations), and local regulatory requirements.
• Assist in regulatory audits by providing documentation and technical support.
6. Collaboration and Reporting:
• Work closely with the R&D and production teams to address quality-related issues.
• Prepare and present detailed quality reports to the Microbiologist/QC Manager.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance product quality.
Requirements
1. Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.
2. Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cosmetic microbiology or quality control.
3. Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in stability testing, preservative efficacy testing, and microbial analysis.
• Strong understanding of GMP, ISO, and cosmetic regulatory standards.
4. Soft Skills:
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
