Job Title: Quality Assurance supervisor

Job Overview: To head a team of Quality controllers in ensuring that all systems put in place for raw material quality control, online QA surveillance on process controls, traceability and positive release at dispatch are strictly followed, and that accurate records are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Raw material Stockage and quality management-You will be required to ensure that all raw material in the cold store is assessed for quality and stockage and any issues found escalated to the Packhouse/Quality manager for action
- Housekeeping and Hygiene-Your working station shall be well arranged and clean at all times for food safety, health and safety purposes
- Manage Quality In coming & Outgoing-Ensure that quality of raw material received on site complies to food safety, quality and legality parameters.
- Temperature probe and Scales Verifications-Ensure that probes and scales are verified as per the schedule
- Manage CCPs-Regularly verifying the CCs to ensure that they are working and any deviations reported and corrective actions taken
- Implement Quality Management-Ensure all procedures in the quality Manual are implemented
- Manage QC Duties
- Facility temperature-Check facility temperature to ensure that they are all working within specified ranges
- Ensure good product quality & Temperature is being packed
- Ensure all equipment is working and of good integrity
- To maintain strict and vigilant surveillance during online quality grading and packing, ensuring that production is prompt and only the conforming materials are converted to finished products.
- Developing and implementing an effective traceability system.
- Establish a continuously challenge a totally effective traceability system to enhance prompt action in case of customer complain arising from non-conforming products, product recalls and mock recalls.
- Maintain an up to date micro sampling schedule and keep records and advise whenever critical limits are exceeded for corrective action.
- Maintenance, analysis and review of quality records.
- To create and monitor effective maintenance of quality records, ensuring that all the aspects of due diligence for all the products are covered by accurate, up to date and easy to follow records and analysis.
- To stand in as custodian of all the Quality Assurance functions in the absence of the Quality Manager.
Qualifications
• Degree/Diploma in food science and technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or other related disciplines
• At least 2 years progressive experience in a busy food processing industry.
Other desired Qualification
- HACCP training and applications
- Computer applications
- Other On -Job training on food safety and quality
- A valid food handlers certificate renewable after every six months
