Project Coordinator
Overview
The position is for Right Tree in the Right Place project: supplying high-quality tree planting material of native tree species for landscape restoration in Sub Saharan Africa (RTRP-Seed). RTRP-Seed addresses bottlenecks in high-quality, diverse native tree seed and seedling supply in support of landscape restoration targets in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, with some additional work in Burkina Faso. The IKI Project Coordinator will support the Project Principal Investigator (PI), country teams and partners across the five project countries.
Duties and responsibilities

- Project assistance and stakeholder liaison
- Execution of administrative and technical tasks
Specific Tasks
The specific duties of the IKI Project Coordinator will include, but not necessarily be limited to:
Project support, communication and reporting
- Support the PI in implementing and maintaining project plans
- Assist in tracking project milestones and deadlines
- Prepare and distribute project reports as directed by the PI
- Facilitate communication between team members and the PI
- Organize and document project meetings
Project assistance and stakeholder liaison
- Assist in coordinating project activities under the guidance of the PI
- Act as a point of contact for project stakeholders, as directed by the PI
- Help monitor project progress and promptly inform the PI of any potential issues or delays
- Support the PI in preparing for partner meetings and follow up on action items
Execution of administrative and technical tasks
- Complete administrative and basic technical tasks as assigned by the PI
- Provide logistical support to the research team in their day-to-day activities
- Ensure all assigned tasks are completed accurately and within set timelines
- Work closely with Theme TREEs administrators to ensure smooth running of the project
- Liaison closely, when necessary with CIFOR-ICRAF units such as the Communication-Outreach and Engagements Unit, Financial Services Unit, Human Resources, Project Management Unit, Procurement Unit
Requirements
- A Master of Science degree in project management, program management, or a related discipline is required, along with demonstrated experience in coordination and administrative management. Candidates should possess a proven track record in overseeing complex projects or programs. Expertise in life sciences will be viewed favorably.
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Some experience coordinating multi-institutional and multi-disciplinary research for research and development projects.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team setting.
Education, knowledge and experience

Terms and conditions
•This is a Locally Recruited position. CIFOR-ICRAF offers competitive remuneration in local currency commensurate with skills and experience.
•The duty station will be in Nairobi, Kenya CIFOR-ICRAF Offices.
