Project Assistant-Child Wellbeing

Key Responsibilities:

Implementation of Project Activities

  • Familiarize with the new concepts and approach of the LIFT to ensure project implementation aligns with the objectives of LIFT.
  • Ensure constant and transparent communication and collaboration with relevant community structures and leaders, in order to get buy-in and support for the project activities. Consider participants as partners instead of beneficiaries.
  • Deliver community outreach sessions on the importance of responsive caregiving, developmental milestones of children and mobilize the participation of parents and caregivers.
  • Providing a safe and supportive place where parents and caregivers of different age groups of children (0-6, 6-12 and 12-17 years old) can experience new learning opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.
  • Work with the Community Volunteers/Facilitators to organize and facilitate relevant sessions with parents/caregivers that support them to promote agency, responsive caregiving, psychological wellbeing, safety and security and learning outcomes of children of different age groups.
  • Facilitate referrals for livelihood support, Cash for Work, Employment, start-up business, etc. for targeted parents and caregivers in the LIFT project.
  • Make arrangements for facilities and materials necessary for activities with parents and caregivers in line with the design and work plan of the LIFT project.
  • Promote, support and facilitate parent/caregiver-child relationships and respond to parent, family and community requests for information on parenting and other topics.
  • Identify and refer parents/caregivers and their children in need of specialized support and other services.
  • Plan and coordinate with other Project Assistants-Child Wellbeing (0-6years, 6-12years and 12-17years) to implement intergenerational activities and to ensure linkage between activities.
  • Report to the Project Officer-Child Wellbeing / or Project Manager on any issues, challenges or gaps in implementation.

Assessment, Monitoring and Reporting

  • Collect and organize the data on the activities and ensure that all the relevant reports/forms are duly filled.
  • Develop and use weekly work plan with support from the Project Officer-Child Wellbeing and Project Manager.
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly reports submitted to the Project Officer that include information on project progress, achievements and challenges.
  • Participate and contribute to the Action Learning of the LIFT pilot project
  • Ensure the data collection and storage respect data protection and information sharing protocols, particularly in terms of confidentiality and do no harm principles.
  • Collaborate closely with the MEAL team to monitor activities with defined monitoring tools and document learning and best practices.
  • Collect feedback from the project participants and community structures and submit to the Project Officer Child Wellbeing and MEAL Officer
  • Identify success stories/ stories of impact and contribute to the development of marketing/communication projects.

Capacity Building & Coordination

  • Acquire skills and knowledge to implement integrated programme to achieve child wellbeing outcomes across sectors.
  • Share capacity building needs with the Project Officer-Child Wellbeing, the Project Manager and/or the Technical Team.
  • Attend internal and external trainings on related topics to enhance knowledge on child wellbeing, early childhood development programming, specific curriculums and other thematic areas.
  • Participate in internal meetings and coordinate with other programme/sector teams.

Other

  • Adhere to WV Child and Adult Safeguarding policy and standards.
  • Adhere to WV accountability standards.
