Kimanya-Ngeyo Foundation for Science and Education is a Ugandan nonprofit, nongovernmental organization founded in 2007 and dedicated to advancing education for development. Kimanya-Ngeyo is inspired by universal principles found in the Bahá’í Faith including that each human being is created noble and that education is indispensable to releasing the potential of individuals to contribute to the advancement of civilization.
Kimanya-Ngeyo is based in Jinja City and operates in Jinja, Buikwe, and Kamuli Districts. At present, the work of the organization is focused on three interconnected areas: (1) raising the capacity of individuals to contribute to the development of their communities through an appropriate education; (2) supporting the professional development of teachers at all levels to enhance the quality of learning in schools as well as the relevance of learning for life outside of school; and (3) engaging in the research about agricultural practice and small scale food production in support of our efforts in the other two areas.
Job Summary: The Programs Support Officer will be responsible for overseeing and streamlining documentation processes across the organization, ensuring that all records, reports, and media content are well-organized, accurate, and easily accessible. This includes producing high-quality media content and detailed reports as needed for the organization’s three lines of action, ensuring clarity and consistency. The officer will work closely with program coordinators and teams to maintain comprehensive documentation of ongoing projects, key decisions, and outcomes, while also coordinating with external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and timely sharing of relevant information.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Documentation and report writing:
- Collaborate with team members to gather and record key project insights, milestones, and outcomes to create comprehensive and well-organized documentation.
- Assist in creating case studies or reports that highlight successful projects, lessons learned, and areas for growth.
- Participate in preparing and compiling detailed reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity, and help to review and edit reports and documents for quality and consistency.
- Participate in designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive documentation systems and processes.
Organizational communications:
- Create and manage engaging content for newsletters, articles, presentations, videos, announcements, and other communication channels.
- Coordinate logistics for collaboration with external teams such as research and filmmaking teams.
- Develop and support the implementation of communication strategies to enhance internal and external communications.
Stakeholder engagement:
- Participate in building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their communication needs.
- Coordinate meetings, events, and communications with stakeholders, while maintaining detailed records of meeting minutes, decisions, action items, and follow-up tasks.
Organizational Learning:
- Support development and implementation of capacity building initiatives
- Participate in designing and implementing learning activities of the organization’s three lines of action
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives and make recommendations for improvements.
- Any other tasks as determined from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- University Degree or higher in related field;
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, or any content management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven experience in organizational communications, documentation, report writing, and, where possible, media production.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Creative and innovative thinking with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Location: The role of Teacher Training Program Coordinator will be based in Jinja, Uganda at the head office of Kimanya-Ngeyo.
