Job Title: Program Officer

Location: Nairobi with visits to target project sites in Kenya

Reports to: Country Manager

 

Qualifications and Work Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in a Health related field or Social science with at least 3 years work experience

· A Higher Diploma in a Health related field with at least 5 years work experience.

· Have experience in program implementation within public, private, and FBOs health sector is mandatory

· Training and experience working with Point of Care Testing (POCT) solutions is highly preferred

· Demonstrated project management experience including budget development, activities planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

· Demonstrated effective coordination of multiple projects especially in low-resource settings with focus on result based programming.

· Demonstrated experience in writing technical reports & strong grant/proposal writing skills.

 

Job description

· The Program Officer will lead in supporting local partners and county health workers in developing project work plans, support implementation of projects activities within set timelines as per Mobilab strategic implementation plan.

· The Program officer will be responsible for coordinating programs and providing the necessary technical monitoring, evaluation and backstopping to partners while implementing different programs in Kenya.

· He/ She will be responsible for building the capacity of local partners and county health teams on adoption of Mobilab POC solutions.

· He/ She will develop quality improvement activities for target partners and counties as well as the M&E framework for use in monitoring and evaluation of projects

· He/ She will be responsible for providing capacity building through training of healthcare workers at both national and county levels on the latest technology for cervical cancer screening and other genital diseases.

· He/she will work with the Area Business Manager to set program performance indicators, targets and ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of projects.

· Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Skills and Competencies

· Excellent written and oral communications skills; Fluency in English language is essential, French language is an added advantage.

· Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills

· Strong people management skills, a resourceful critical thinker with ability to solving any arising issues

· Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse team work environment driven with results

· Ability to work with minimum or no supervision, under pressure with strict datelines.

· Experience in preparing funding proposals and grant applications as well as Information Technology skills are essential.

· Ability to uphold Mobilab core values; Integrity, transparency, and accountability at all times.
