About The Role
Basi Go is seeking a highly motivated Production Quality Specialist, to join our dynamic team in Thika, Kenya. In this role, you will be a key member of Basi Go’s Manufacturing Quality team, playing an integral part in the establishment and scaling of electric vehicle assembly operations in Kenya. You will play a critical role in maintaining quality throughout the assembly process, ensuring that all production stages meet Basi Go’s strict quality standards and contributing to the smooth flow of operations.

Responsibilities
- In-Line Quality Control: Perform operational quality checks at key production stages, such as chassis assembly, bodywork, painting, and trim installation, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Inspection and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections using established checklists and report any defects or non-conformities to the Quality Control Lead for corrective action.
- Issue Documentation and Escalation: Document quality issues using Non-Conformity Reports (NCR) and ensure defects are resolved promptly. Escalate recurring issues to the Quality Control Lead.
- End-of-Line Support: Assist with end-of-line quality checks, including static and dynamic inspections, shower tests, road tests, and final approval before vehicle handover.
- Data Collection: Collect and report data on defects, reworks, and non-conformities to support process improvement and issue resolution.
- Supplier Liaison: Assist the Quality Control Lead in conducting parts inspections with suppliers and addressing quality concerns related to delivered components.
- Collaboration with Production Teams: Work closely with the production team to resolve quality issues immediately, ensuring production targets are met without compromising quality.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- 4 years of experience in quality control or a similar operational role within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle or component assembly quality control processes.
- Proficiency in documentation and reporting to ensure accurate tracking of quality issues and corrective actions.
