Job Review

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing and managing the importation of high-quality interior design materials, furniture and any other interior design related materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate and negotiate with international suppliers for quality interior design products, materials, and furnishings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.
  • Conduct market research to source new products and assess competitive pricing.
  • Oversee the importation process, ensuring compliance with international trade laws and local regulations.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and customs brokers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Prepare and manage all import documentation, including purchase orders, bills of lading and customs clearance documents.
  • Monitor shipments and resolve any logistics or customs clearance issues.
  • Negotiate favourable pricing, payment terms and contracts with suppliers.
  • Work closely with the finance department to manage procurement budgets and ensure cost efficiency.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate procurement planning to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Ensure all imported products meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the design and project teams to confirm that purchased materials align with design specifications.
  • Maintain updated records of suppliers, contracts and procurement transactions.

Key Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Must have Professional certification (e.g. CIPS, KISM)
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on imports and supply chain management in interior design industry.
  • Strong understanding of international trade laws, import regulations and logistics.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and supplier management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
