Role Description

MYDAWA is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer-Pharma experienced in the Pharmaceutical Industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing pharmaceutical products aligned with the internal formulary, telehealth team requests, and customer needs. The role involves maintaining an out-of-stock percentage of no more than 1%, negotiating with suppliers for competitive pricing, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Additional duties include managing product expiry dates, supporting marketing activities, and contributing to stock liquidation efforts.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in procurement within the retail pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with various ERPs.
  • Degree or diploma in pharmacy.
  • An additional bachelor’s degree in a business field is a significant bonus.
  • Strong understanding of drug categories, commonly prescribed products, cold chain, injectable, and DDA medications.
  • Knowledge of the OTC and supplements landscape in Kenya is a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance.

Location & Travel

  • Based in Nairobi with occasional travel within the city for supplier visits or industry events.
  • The company will cater for travel expenses outside the office premises for work related visits
