Job Summary:
We seek a highly organized and proactive Procurement/Inventory Officer with logistics expertise to join our furniture manufacturing team. The role involves managing procurement, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and overseeing logistics operations to guarantee smooth supply chain processes, from sourcing materials to delivering finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement:
Identify and source quality materials, tools, and supplies required for furniture production.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to secure timely, cost-effective purchases.
Evaluate and select vendors based on price, quality, and reliability.
Prepare and manage purchase orders and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels of raw materials and finished goods.
Conduct regular inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies.
Implement inventory control systems to track stock movement and usage.
Prepare detailed inventory reports and forecasts to support production planning.
Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to maintain quality and prevent damage.
Logistics and Supply Chain:
Coordinate the transportation of raw materials to the factory and delivery of finished products to customers.
Optimize logistics operations, including routing and scheduling, to ensure cost-efficiency and timely deliveries.
Work with transport providers to arrange shipping and resolve delivery issues.
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements in logistics operations.
Track shipments and manage import/export documentation as necessary.
Production Collaboration:
Work closely with production managers to align material availability with production schedules.
Address material shortages and delays to minimize production disruptions.
Support the development of strategies to improve the procurement and logistics processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years experience in procurement, inventory management, and logistics, ideally in furniture manufacturing or a related industry.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Proficiency in inventory management software eg. ERP system and Zoho systems.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
