Role Summary
We are looking for a Pharmacist to ensure smooth daily operations at our pharmacy. In this role, your duties will include administering safe and effective pharmaceutical services, managing the pharmacy’s inventory, overseeing pharmacy personnel, and coordinating quality, patient safety and regulatory initiatives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in developing and implementing the Hospital’s strategic plans, annual plans and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and professional requirements set by the PPB for high-quality patient care and medication safety.
- Coordinate, lead and actively participate in hospital-wide and pharmacy-specific continuous quality and patient safety improvement (CQI) initiatives.
- Formulate, review, communicate and implement relevant policies, procedures, standards, clinical guidelines, and protocols.
- Coordinate and participate in the Hospital’s clinical governance committees and pharmacy audits.
- Lead the Pharmacy team in providing excellent customer experience and customer satisfaction by providing high-quality pharmacy services, effective communication, positively receiving customer feedback, and effectively resolving and escalating complaints/concerns as necessary.
- Participate in the recruitment, onboarding and training of new pharmacy employees.
- Liaise with the Medical Services Manager and HR Manager to ensure optimal staff levels, efficient use of locums and all pharmacy staff have valid practice licenses and BLS certificates.
- Foster teamwork, regular staff engagement and discipline in the pharmacy team and ensure the Hospital’s values and culture are upheld.
- Facilitate experiential education and practice advancement by conducting regular assessments to identify the training needs of pharmacy staff and taking the lead in developing and implementing an annual training plan and calendar to enhance the technical skills and competence of pharmacy staff.
- Lead the Pharmacy team in providing safe, timely, efficient, effective, equitable, and patient-centered pharmacy services.
- Ensure that the pharmacy is well stocked at the set re-order levels. Monitor the prescription fill rate, stock out rate and inventory days and maintain the set targets. Collaborate with the Finance team in supplies procurement, ordering, and inventory management.
- Undertake daily counts, spot checks, and monthly stock takes and submit a timely, accurate report with a valid explanation of variances and expiries for approval of adjustment by Finance.
- Formulate, review, communicate and implement the Hospital’s drug formulary.
- Ensure that all pharmacy records including narcotic and psychotropic substances and prescription records, all stock movements, purchases from petty cash, OTC prescriptions issued, expired drugs, and broken, lost or stolen items, are accurate, up-to-date and as per legal requirements and captured in the HMIS real-time.
- Monitor Pharmacy margins monthly and ensure that target margins are achieved. Participate in the formulation of strategies to improve pharmacy margins within reason.
- Professionally and timely prepare and present weekly and monthly activity (statistics), clinical, management and industry reports or updates, ensuring a smooth flow of information between the pharmacy and management.
- Support and actively participate in corporate health talks, outreach and wellness activities and any other marketing and business development activities as required.

Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (BPharm) from an institution recognized by PPB
- Must be registered and hold a valid practice license from the PPB
- Valid Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- At least three (3) years of active pharmacy experience in a busy hospital with at least one (1) year in a
- leadership or managerial role
