Role Description
This is a full-time opportunity for Pharmaceutical Technologists who will operate within their communities in Nairobi County, and Mombasa County. The Pharmacist in Mashinani will serve as agents and their role will involve compounding medications, effective communication with patients and medical staff, invoicing medications, handling prescriptions, and ensuring the safe dispensing of medicines from MYDAWA platform.
Core Responsibilities
- Receiving prescriptions from patients in the community
- Confirming the validity of the prescriptions
- Carrying out prescription audit to identify any drug-drug interaction that may necessitate amendment of prescriptions and calling the prescriber if changes to a prescription may be necessary
- Ensuring that all insurance orders have the necessary requirements for dispensing to proceed
- Uploading the prescription (and claim form where applicable) to the MYDAWA platform on behalf of the patients/clients
- Check out immediately after the items have been added to cart to allow timely processing of the orders
- Receiving all the respective patients’ packages whose prescriptions you uploaded and verify against the invoice
- Dispensing the prescriptions to the respective patients and patient counselling
- Sharing relevant ORIGINAL HARD COPIES of DDA PRESCRIPTIONS with the head office and any other documents that may be required
- Adhere to Dangerous Drug Act regulation
- Report any adverse drug reactions from customers that have been served from MYDAWA
Qualifications
- Compounding and Medicine handling skills
- Effective Communication with patients and medical staff
- Prescription management knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and best practices
- Minimum of a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology or Degree in Pharmacy from a reputable organization.
- Registered with a valid professional license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
