This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya and reports to the WFP Somalia Nairobi Partnerships Team Lead.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):
Resource Mobilization
- Support the coordination of donor accounts and ensure adherence to obligations agreed with donors to WFP in Somalia.
- Review reporting and compliance requirements for donor grants and liaise with Programme and Partnerships teams regarding implementation of projects to ensure timely and quality reporting. Maintain an up-to-date tracker of donor obligations, commitments, and reporting requirements
- Support team lead with the preparation of new funding proposals, including by coordinating among internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the process of developing reports for partner contributions including coordinating with relevant teams for timely input.
- Support proactive resource mobilization by preparing regular intelligence reports on new opportunities to pursue, donor engagements and priorities, and political developments
- Establish regular engagement with a network of internal stakeholders in WFP Somalia and across HQ and Regional Bureau partnerships teams on matters concerning resource mobilization
- Contribute to knowledge management concerning resource mobilization. Use corporate tools for intelligence, including Salesforce and circulate intelligence to internal stakeholders.
Partnerships and Advocacy
- Support the development of information products including PowerPoint decks and briefing notes, to share information with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain awareness of current activities, political and social events of UN and other multilateral bodies/governments, conduct analysis to understand how they may impact WFP activities and programmes and provide timely information to WFP teams for decision-making.
- In support of partnerships officers and CO units, support in the preparation of briefing documents for external meetings with donors and other partners.
- Work with partnerships and communications officers to support events, including launches, field visits, workshops and other external engagements.
- Contribute to the achievement of the WFP Somalia Country Strategic Plan and annual priorities as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND LANGUAGE:
Education:
Advanced degree in Political Science, International Development, Law, Marketing, Communications or relevant field or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training courses.
Experience: At least seven (7) years of experience with secondary certificate OR University degree (Diploma/bachelor’s degree) with 2/3 years of experience in International Development or International Relations.
Language: Fluency (level C) in English. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second UN language is an added advantage.
ARE YOU COMPETENT FOR THIS JOB? DO YOU HAVE:
- Experience in International Development or International Relations.
- Knowledge & Skills: Relationship/partner management, resource mobilization, grant management, excellent writing and analytical skills, project management, proposal writing, report writing. Knowledge of financing for development. Prior knowledge of Somalia or WFP would be an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft (MS Excel).
