Partnership and Business Development Officer

JOB SUMMARY

The Partnership and Business Development Officer will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of Foundation for Sustainable Smallholder Solution (FSSS) by fostering strategic alliances and identifying growth opportunities. This position requires an innovative and results-driven professional who can secure and manage partnerships that amplify FSSS’s impact, while driving sustainable funding and program expansion. The successful candidate will position FSSS as a leader in agriculture and food security, creating lasting value for smallholder farmers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Partnerships: Build and nurture partnerships with organizations, government agencies, and private sector entities to align with FSSS’s goals.
  • Resource Mobilization: Identify and secure funding opportunities through compelling proposals, grants, and sponsorships to ensure program sustainability.
  • Business Development: Design and execute innovative strategies for revenue growth, program scaling, and market expansion.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strong relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends and emerging opportunities in agriculture and food security to guide FSSS’s strategies.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare high-quality concept notes, proposals, and reports tailored to donor and partner priorities.
  • Program Innovation: Collaborate with teams to create impactful programs that address the needs of smallholder farmers while attracting funding and partnerships.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate the outcomes of partnerships and business initiatives, ensuring alignment with FSSS’s objectives.
  • Representation: Represent FSSS at key forums, conferences, and events to promote its mission and strengthen its brand presence.
  • Brand Integration: Work closely with the Communication/Brand Strategist to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across all partnerships.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience: At least five (5) years of professional experience in business development, partnership management, or similar roles, with a proven track record of success.

Networking: Strong ability to build and maintain strategic relationships

Proposal Writing: Expertise in crafting persuasive proposals and business plans.

Financial Skills: Solid understanding of budgeting and revenue generation.

Stakeholder Management: Skilled in fostering trust and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Problem-solving: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

Tech Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and CRM tools
