As ACO expands in Kenya, the company is seeking an Orders and Logistics Officer to ensure the
smooth integration of trade and logistics operations, supporting the delivery of high-quality
products while maintaining adherence to industry standards.
Core Purpose of the Role
The Orders and Logistics Officer is a key part of ACO Kenya’s operational success, driving the
seamless fusion of trade and logistics that fuels the company’s competitive edge in the market. This
role requires a visionary leader who not only understands the intricacies of supply chain
management but can also proactively align these logistics functions with strategic trading
initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end movement
of goods, ensuring optimal efficiency, and fostering key relationships with suppliers and clients.
This officer is expected to deliver high-impact results by harmonizing internal and external
logistics processes with market-driven trade demands.

flawlessly executed. The Orders and Logistics Officer will be an influential player, contributing to

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Supply Chain and Logistics Management
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, especially sales and operations, to streamline order
processing and guarantee that customer needs are met promptly and with precision.
• Ensure that the supply chain operates at maximum efficiency to support business goals.
• Seamlessly coordinate cargo movement, both locally and internationally, ensuring timely
and accurate delivery of good.
• Leverage cutting-edge logistics technology (e.g., ERP systems) to optimize workflows,
reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
2. Trade and Regulatory Coordination
• Lead the coordination of trade operations by negotiating and managing contracts, pricing,
and trade agreements to optimize ACO’s trading activities.
• Manage the complexities of international trade, including currency fluctuations, legal
compliance, and customs regulations, ensuring that ACO remains agile and compliant in a
fast-paced market.
• Maintain full control of all necessary documentation (e.g., CoC) to facilitate smooth
transactions and ensure compliance with industry standards and international laws.
3. Inventory and Stock Management
• Oversee comprehensive stock management processes, ensuring the accurate forecasting of
demand and efficient storage practices, particularly in bonded and general warehouses.
• Lead initiatives to reduce wastage, optimize stock levels, and streamline replenishment
processes, ensuring that both raw materials and finished goods are always available to meet
customer and trade needs.
• Execute detailed inventory forecasting based on real-time sales data to ensure that stock
levels are always aligned with actual and projected demand.
4. Vendor and Client Relationship Management
• Act as the key point of contact between ACO and its suppliers, building strong, mutually
beneficial relationships that ensure favorable terms and reliable service.
• Manage all communications with retailers, distributors, and customers to ensure the
seamless flow of goods and maintain high levels of satisfaction on both sides of the supply
chain.
• Negotiate profitable deals that not only meet ACO’s financial objectives but also strengthen
long-term partnerships and ensure operational continuity.
5. Compliance, Risk Management, and Reporting
• Lead efforts to ensure full compliance with all local and international logistics and trade
regulations, ensuring ACO’s operational integrity and reducing risk exposure.
• Navigate complex legal frameworks related to customs, import/export laws, and industry
certifications, maintaining detailed and accurate records to support audits, regulatory
reviews, and internal reporting.
• Provide timely and precise reports to senior management on logistics performance, trade
outcomes, stock levels, and compliance matters, delivering insights that drive strategic
decision-making.
6. Operational Excellence and Process Improvement
• Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies in
logistics processes and implementing innovative solutions to enhance productivity.
• Use data analytics to monitor performance metrics, identify trends, and implement best
practices across the entire logistics and trade cycle.
Core Competencies and Qualifications
Experience:
• 5-10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, and trade within
dynamic, high-volume environments.
• Proven success in overseeing the end-to-end logistics processes in a commercial context,
with particular expertise in international trade and compliance.
• Experience in trading and exporting/importing goods, from and to Kenya.
Educational Background:
• BSc/BA in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a
related field is required.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Supply Chain Management or a similar field would be an
added advantage.
Skills & Knowledge:
• Deep knowledge of logistics software (ERP systems), including Microsoft NAV and MS
Office, with the ability to drive technology-driven efficiency improvements.
• Expertise in supply chain optimization and inventory management, with the ability to
forecast demand, manage stocks, and reduce waste.
• Understanding of industry laws and regulations pertaining to logistics, customs
clearance, and international trade, with the ability to navigate complex legal landscapes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage diverse
stakeholders, from suppliers to high-level clients, ensuring profitable and sustainable
business relationships.
Track Record of Success:
• Demonstrated history of driving operational excellence, ensuring on-time delivery,
and negotiating deals that positively impact the company’s bottom line.
• Proven ability to work independently, managing multiple logistics projects and
processes while maintaining a high level of organizational and coordination skills.
