POSITION: OPERATIONS MANAGER
REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER
Brief Job Summary
To oversee running of a section and ensure the efficient use of financial/ human resources, equipment and supplies therein. Senior Managers are required to manage the cost, delivery and quality of IMC health care services in their area of operation

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrate judgment and self-sufficiency in effective problem solving while serving as the administrative and operational resource for the IMC facilities.
  • Participate in creating and implementing sustainable business opportunities through consumer knowledge and analysis, development of tools for understanding social and economic consumer patterns and how they promote our service provision.
  • Oversee and coordinate daily running of the IMC Facilities activities.
  • Develop, implement and monitor working systems and protocols for departments under your direct report and how they relate to other departments.
  • Act as the hospital and Clinic contact for external clients, deal with queries and facilitate tours of the hospital facilities and services available.
  • Ensure that legal status of the IMC facilities is up-to-date and adheres to standards under the Ministry of Health, the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council and any other governing bodies e.g. the Registration, Insurance, etc.
  • Coordinate operations and personnel activities to meet Departmental and IMC objectives related to the provision of services within designated areas.
  • Determine necessary space, equipment, supplies and support systems to ensure effective functioning of unit/department.
  • Investigate patient/visitor concerns and implement appropriate courses of action and take corrective action in situations requiring immediate intervention, including interpretation and administration of hospital policy and work rules.
  • Intervene and solve problem for inter-/intra-departmental issues and facilitate interdepartmental communication, negotiation and decision-making.
  • Obtain adequate facts and evaluate data to identify and intervene in actual and/or potential safety and risk management issues.
  • Support clinical, operational and facility services throughout the entire IMC facilities on a 24-hour basis.
  • Collaborate with clinical and support staff to foster delivery of quality care
  • Attend Code events and participate as needed; provide feedback for staff and complete QA report.
  • Coach and mentor staff in problem solving, effective communication strategies, conflict resolution and career path opportunities./li>
  • Provide on-site management/leadership of crisis situations to prevent or minimize disruption of services.
  • Act as an Environment Health & Safety (EHS) representative.
  • Perform any other duties as may be reasonably required and/or communicated.
