Purpose of Role:
This position serves to implement the TV Strategy through ensuring that the process of content development, planning and execution meets all the established standards and that the brand standards are met. The position works with the producers during the content planning and execution to ensure that the processes leading to the news program execution are all adhered to and within the timelines.
Key Accountabilities
- In line with the TV strategy, ensure that there are established standard operating procedures and set standards for the delivery of news;
- Ensure that staff in the TV News production are equipped with the necessary knowledge of the standard operating procedures and that this is incorporated in the onboarding program for the new employees;
- Coordinate and facilitate discussions on the content sequencing/line up as well as ensuring that there are captivating content promos;
- Ensure that the timelines for content gathering, editing and upload is met and the content is of desirable quality;
Monitor feedback on news programs and seek to address any gaps in viewership fluctuations or any declines; - Ensure that the interview questions established for any guests reflect the objectives of the debate and captivate the audience in an insightful, engaging and informative;
- Steer debates in the editorial team meetings to explore divergent perspectives;
- Participating in daily editorial planning meetings to refine delivery requirements for correspondents, editors, graphics and anchors;
- Participate post news program debriefs to evaluate performance and agree on improvements to be implemented immediately;

- Proven leadership capabilities in managing highly dynamic TV shows involving creative concepts and teams;
- Versatility in coming up with new improvements that are pegged on self-criticism; team reflections and market intelligence/ competitor analysis;

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in a mainstream broadcasting environment with relevant TV Production work experience
- Demonstrated ability to implement, initiate and implement new programs or make significant changes in existing programs in terms of both content and presentation
- Excellent knowledge of current affairs with insights into a wide range of issues and an understanding of audience needs.
- Degree in Journalism, Communication or Media Studies.
