
The ideal candidate will be responsible for proposing, planning and executing telecommunications network projects. You will design, maintain and improve our clients’ network infrastructure. You will also provide troubleshooting and configuration support by using your strong technical skills in Linux and Windows environments and IP networking.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Network engineering
- Site survey, design, implementation and operational support for client networks, including LAN, WAN and data center infrastructures.
- Installation & configurations of routers, switches, firewalls, microwave radios, wireless access points, IP telephony, conferencing and CCTV systems.
- Fiber optic and copper cable systems design, roll out and maintenance.
- RF, GSM/3G/4G/5G, Wimax and microwave radio installations, optimization, testing and maintenance.
- Configure and deploy AD, LDAP, DNS and DHCP topologies, Microsoft Servers and collaboration suites such as Office 365, Google Workspace, Zoho, etc.
- Installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX or Linux based environments and open source software systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of projects, network configurations and procedures.
Network management
- Perform troubleshooting and solve for any network outages or anomalies.
- Provide professional technical support.
- Configure and deploy network monitoring and management tools to monitor networks and maximize availability.
- Schedule and execute software patches and upgrades in a timely manner.
- Configure or add new services as necessary.
Project management
- Define project scope, objectives, and requirements and ensure technical and financial feasibility.
- Develop detailed project plans, monitor and track progress.
- Produce bills-of-material and project cost estimates.
- Manage resources and risks throughout project life-cycles.
- Maintain high standards of quality assurance.
Communications
- Liaise and manage relationships with stakeholders, vendors, service providers, client, internal teams and management for timely support and effective collaboration.
Leadership
- Provide technical expertise, mentorship and guidance to team members to ensure optimum efficiency and project execution.
- Continuously update job knowledge by staying up-to-date with established standards, emerging technologies and participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
- Formulate strategic and operational objectives for the technical department.
Legal compliance
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures.
- Ensure the organization’s technical operations and processes remain legally compliant and adhering to all requirements by relevant authorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics/Telecommunications/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT or related field.
- Networking certifications (CCNA, CCNP, HCNP, MTCNA, etc.).
- 7 years of hands-on experience in telecommunications with extensive knowledge in networking technologies.
- Deep knowledge of IP networking fundamentals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- An enthusiastic and disciplined forward thinker with great communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
