
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive M&E system to track the progress and impact of CURE Kenya programs. This role ensures that data collection, analysis, and reporting are conducted effectively to inform decision-making and enhance program performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Planning:
- Lead in developing the MEL agenda and plan in consultation with the program team and partners
- Participating in the preparation of work plans, budgets, and performance frameworks
- Ensure all MEL activities are aligned with CURE Kenya’s Strategic Plan
Designing and Managing Systems:
- Designing, implementing, and managing monitoring and evaluation systems and facilitating input from patients, coworkers, donors and other stakeholders
- Develop and maintain accurate information in a project database and electronic files
Collecting and Analyzing Data:
- Developing data collection tools, such as questionnaires, checklists, and interview guides
- Ensuring data accuracy and identifying best practices
Conducting Monitoring Activities:
- Working with project staff and volunteers to conduct field monitoring activities
- Regularly collect patient impact stories and photos for communications, applications and reports
Writing Reports:
- Writing quarterly, annual, and donor reports
Presenting Findings:
- Presenting findings to stakeholders, such as donors, governments, and other partners
Providing Technical Support:
- Providing technical support to coworkers on monitoring and evaluation activities through training and mentorship
Guiding External Agencies:
- Providing guidance and expertise to external agencies on conducting evaluation and assessment studies
Resource Mobilization
- Support the programs team in resource mobilization activities including concepts and grant proposal writing
Knowledge Management:
- Supporting knowledge management processes within the organization
