
Impact Research and Development Organization (IRDO) [www.impact-rdo.org] is a registered Kenyan
NGO with a main office in Kisumu and regional offices in 9 counties of Kenya. IRDO’s principal mandate is to design, implement and evaluate HIV, TB and Malaria research and intervention programs that improve the health status of individuals and local communities. IRDO is currently funded by Amref Health Africa in Kenya, under the GC7, to implement Malaria prevention, care. and treatment services among the general populations in Kisumu, Siaya & Vihiga counties. We are looking for qualified and experienced personnel to fill in the position of a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer from October 01 2024.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER (1 POSITION)
Job Summary: The MãE Officer is responsible for guiding the overall program M&E strategy and implementation of related activities within the project and undertakes timely preparation and submission of reports to the Project Coordinator for review and submission to the donor, and other stakeholders.
Reports to: The Project Coordinator
Location: Based in Kisumu County with field visits to Vihiga, and Siaya counties
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Review, analyze, and validate CHU data, on a monthly basis, to ensure accuracy. completeness and consistency;
- Perform CHU data cleaning, collation, and prepare summaries to aid reporting:
- Support Field Officers in the preparation and submission of accurate, complete and timely monthly progress narrative reports to the Project Coordinator for review and submission to the donor & other stakeholders:
- Maintain documentation based on Global Fund/Amref Health Africa in Kenya guidelines to assist in standardizing data management procedures;
- Support in the upload of project activity reports on the donor reporting portal;
- Ensure timely upload of CHU data on KHIS and monitor the platform to ensure availability of high quality data, at all times, for decision-making;
- Participate in project-monitoring visits/forums with the C/SCHMT, other project staff, health care workers and other key stakeholders;
- Perform spot checks to ensure compliance with project guidelines and procedures;
• Perform any other official duty as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Applied Mathematics or related field
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience working as an M&E Officer in public health related programs, preferably in a Global Fund funded program including experience with Global Fund M&E system and reporting requirements.
- Must possess excellent and demonstrable working knowledge and skills of Ms. Excel
- Working knowledge of Global Fund Malaria funded programs; particularly programs funded through the Amref Health Africa in Kenya
- Practical knowledge of database systems will be an added advantage; however, proficiency in MS-Office applications is a must.
- Other competencies: Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task; good writing and presentation skills; communication skills and teamwork; able to travel long distances; can work long hours, including weekends and public holidays when necessary
