Koinonia Community is seeking to fill the position of a Monitoring and Evaluation officer as detailed below;

Job Objective:

The objective of this position is to find an M&E officer responsible for developing and implementing robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks. This position aims at ensuring effective tracking of program activities, outputs, outcomes and impacts. This role she/he will have is that of facilitating improve program efficiency and evidence-based decision-making. The job will contribute to organizational learning and ensuring alignment with project goals as well as donor requirements and stakeholder expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clarify elements in the existing indicator matrix (if required).
  • Develop/design qualitative and quantitative data collection tools suitable for project’s indicators.
  • Supervise the measurement of project’s outcome and output indicators in the context of RBM approach.
  • Ensure appropriate qualitative and quantitative data analysis through relevant software (e.g. NVivo MAXQDA, Quirkos and QDA Miner) or other means.
  • Enter indicator data into M&E matrix/dashboard.
  • Collaboratively prepare and submit M&E quarterly reports.
  • Database management through appropriate database system (DBMS) such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL, Access or others.
  • Establish protocols for Data Quality Assessment (DQA).
  • Develop M&E plans as far as outputs and outcomes indicators are concerned.
  • Regularly monitor indicators progress against M&E plans for each result. Implementation of the existing M&E indicator matrix in accordance
  • Facilitate regular learning sessions and trainings for stakeholders involved in the M&E process.
  • Verify data accuracy through field visits in the context of DQA.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, development studies, monitoring & evaluation or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in an M&E position responsible for implementing M&E activities or a similar role.
  3. Minimum 3 of year-experience in the NGOs sector using RBM approach.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Knowledge in qualitative data collection and analysis tools (e.g. NVivo MAXQDA, Quirkos and QDA Miner).
  2. Experience in using statistical packages for analyzing complex datasets (e.g. Excel, Kobo Toolbox, etc…) and generation of information for decision making.
  3. Demonstrated familiarity with Results Based Management approach and chain in development programs implementation.
  4. Ability in designing and maintaining data collection tools on digital platforms.
  5. Proven experience in establishing M&E systems, logical and result in frameworks for programs with demonstrated strong database management and problem-solving skills.
  6. Computer skills: hands-on competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  7. Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (e.g. qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies and tools.
  8. Experience in planning and managing surveys & developing and refining data collection tools.
  9. Ability to work collaboratively with a team, lead own work and disseminate information on a timely basis.
  10. Languages: excellent written and spoken English.

Terms of Employment:

  • I year Renewable Contract
  • Probation period for the first 3 Months
